In 1986 Prince premiered his movie "Under The Cherry Moon" to a lucky Mtv contest winner in Sheridan,Wyoming. A few days later on July 3rd,Prince came 2 Denver,Colorado and did a concert there. It was a "one off show",as he had no plans 2 tour supporting the "Parade" LP stateside. A warm up gig b4 he went overseas. My Mother knew how much I wanted 2 loved Prince and how funky it would be 4 me 2 go see him in concert. She drove from Lusk,Wyoming 2 Denver and got me one ticket 4 the show.My ticket was only $17.50. Than the day of the show we drove 2 Denver and she dropped me off at the now de funked McNichols Arena . I was mesmerised when Prince and the somewhat "Revolution" at the time took the stage. I had great seats and the place was packed. Prince and the band jammed for over 2 hours and kicked out 24 funky jams 2 my pleasure and 17,00 plus others. It was such an amazing night. After the show I was so excited and high from the rush of the concert. My ears ringing with the fantastic music of His Royal Badness. My Mom picked me up several blocks away and the first thing she asked was; "How was it"? I grabbed her and gave her a big kiss and hug and thanked her 4 a fantastic night. See she claimed this was an early birthday present,b day is in September. So yeah she did not have 2 get me anything else. I was set and happy. I talked her ear off all the way back 2 my country living lil town of Lusk,Wyoming telling her about the show, what he played and what they wore. And of course, we(well at least I) listened 2 Prince all the way home. Thank U Mom 4 An Incredible Night. And thank U Prince and the Revolution 4 a funktastic concert!
